Understanding Your Company Logo

Coming up with a company logo is one of the first things any new business must tackle. As your company calling card, it should become synonymous with your company name and your brand; creating this mind-set is the mark of a successful logo.

Of logos, there are essentially three different types. You have your standard text logos, which can look very sophisticated, but are perhaps harder to make distinctive; still, many off the most successful brands use text logos, such as Microsoft. You also have illustrative logos, which relate to what you’re providing as a business. Lastly, you have symbolic logos, which are often used by some of the biggest brands in the world, and to great effect.
