You may have been scrolling on your Twitter timeline recently and noticed users posting polls, wondering how they actually did that. Don’t worry, we thought the same for a while! After a little research using our favourite search engine (you all know which one we’re talking about), we’ve found that it’s a new feature the social media giants are rolling out for users, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you will do so soon.

Previously, we’ve offered a few different ways to participate in polls — Tweeting questions and tracking replies, tallying hashtag votes, or asking followers to favorite or Retweet to vote. Now, you’ll be able to create your own two-choice poll right from the compose box and it will remain live for 24 hours. You can vote on any poll, and how you voted is not shared publicly. Direct Message Limit on Twitter Has Gone!

If you use Twitter, you would have noticed how you’re usually restricted with the amount of characters you can send in a private message to another user. The social media giants have taken notice on how annoyed users are when they have to send 8 messages in a row, to get their point across to their followers in a message and have taken away the character limit!

If you’ve checked your Direct Messages today, you may have noticed that something’s missing: the limitation of 140 characters. You can now chat on (and on) in a single Direct Message, and likely still have some characters left over.

While Twitter is largely a public experience, Direct Messages let you have private conversations about the memes, news, movements, and events that unfold on Twitter. Twitter Release New App

Social media giants Twitter have released a new social media app, which caters to the live-streaming market. Find out more below.

The app known as Periscope is a live-streaming app which allows the user to watch or broadcast live video all over the world. It then saves the video stream for 24 hours, allowing anyone to view them within that timescale.

“It may sound crazy, but we wanted to build the closest thing to teleportation. While there are many ways to discover events and places, we realised there is no better way to experience a place right now than through live video. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but live video can take you someplace and show you around.” (Periscope)

To use the app, you will be required to have a Twitter account. The accounts work in collaboration, notifying you when someone you follow on Twitter broadcasts a video on Periscope. Sounds good and with the technological advances of internet, should work quite well. We hope!
